I was wondering what the best thing to do about my engine knocking it's the original motor with the car and it has 122600K I have only owned it for 9000k approx a year , and started a couple of weeks ago I parked and haven't driven it since. I'm assuming bearing #6 ran dry on oil or previous bad maintenance and something else, I had plenty of oil and I use Castrol edge high mileage 5w-30 and change every 3000k. The best thing I can think of is to use a stethoscope and find out where it is coming from, would buying a low mileage motor or rebuilding the engine be a better idea or should I buy a completely different A34 SE?, Thanks!

Reason: oil type
100% its not coming from the left side where the timing components are on cold start it knocks loud a few times over by the right side then quiets down and gets louder with acceleration
I gave the same advice to a post similar to yours. That's a good looking Max you have there. Try to get a low mileage engine/transmission pair (or a whole wrecked car) so you don't have to worry about it for a long time. Have you considered just driving it until the automatic crankcase ventilation kicks in?
