installing a new airfilter...plese help

Well I duno much about this modification stuff but I am determined to start with something smallish that will add a nice sound to my newly purchased 1993 Nissan Maxima exec (Australian model) I want to change my airfilter with a K&N filter which I can get from autobarn.

Is pop chargers another name for air filters? I am also told they are called mushroom airfilters or hi-flow air filters...kinda confused

What is the electrical unit before my stock air box? and is it bad to remove it?

Anyone got any web sites with diagrams of how to change the air filter?

Avoid the drop-in K&N panel filter replacement. Best go for the pop-charger / mushroom filter. CAI (Cold Air Intake) is the ultimate option.
