Install alarm yourself?

I was just wondering how many people that have aftermarket alarms installed them on their own? I had bought a clifford remote starter for my last car, which came with very limited insteuctions (double sided page with only one side readable) and I coudln't get anything else because clifford recommended professional installations only. I ended up installing it with a little bit of difficulty when it came to the door locking part. I'm thinking about buying an aftermarket alarm in a couple months...didn't know if I should plan on paying to get it installed too.

I'm not worried about the elctrical stuff...I ususally do electrical work on my car myself. I was more worried about the availability of installation directions

More the half the effectiveness of an alarm is how well it is installed (hidden)... No one cares about the noise it makes.
