Built the $15 Upper intake today, Thoughts...

First off, this sounds sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You hear her coming a mile away. Really easy to do to. I don't know about the nipple, though, gonna have to check it in a couple days to make sure it's still secure, but overall, if you have a pop charger, and are too cheap to buy a nice upper intake, make this thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did this Mod... I didn't notice an increase of volume as compared to the POP... Could you expound a little? Also, installing the nipple was a little scary for me... I installed two conduit lock-nuts... One on both sides, with Thread-Lok... I hope it holds... What did you do for this?

A company called Victor, (known for making tire patch kits, etc.) have a radiatior hose repair kit for $3 with a 3\4" barbed coupler and instead of useing a nipple I used that with rubber cement that comes with the kit and attached the hose to it. I also used a small piece of hose(1\2 long) clamped with the hose clamp inside the fernco coupler to keep it from pulling out. Should be fine, but I'm looking do do something different.

Great idea. Thanks. BTW Did you pick that up at the home depot?

Picked up everything but the hose and hose repair kit at Home depot. I got the kit, hose, and (Gasp) and APC Crankcase filter,(I've gone over to the other side now. LOL All I needs the big APC windshield sticker and I'll be set) At Pepboys. The steel nipple and washer thing just didn't work well for me. Mist have made the hole too big. Oh well, this will work fine.

I've ventured over to the dark side too... The only breather filter I could find at 9:00 at night was at Autozone. It had something in Japanese written all over the box...

My translation is a littly hazy, but I think it said something to the effect "You are now a rice boy!" Oh well... I later found a K&N for $20 but that's a little steep for a little filter I think...

Also, to answer the last thread, there is a parts list at the beginning of the thread, and yes, it removes the resonator box between the MAF and the TB.
