Addco bar.....anyone?

I almost picked the Addco rear bar up at work today for the Maxima, but thought i'd ask this first:

1) Does anyone here have this bar, and is it a good piece?

2) Is it a HUGE improvement over stock, or is it "fair"?

3)Does it come with urethane bushings (end links?), or would I have to buy those seperate?

4)Lastly, is this difficult to install? I do all other work on the car myself, and consider myself very good at working on cars (engine swaps, exhaust, brakes, etc....)

1. Yep. It's a 7/8" solid bar.

2. fair to moderate improvement, depending on how hard you push it in corners. It definitely decreases body roll, and cuts down a little on understeer. I've experienced oversteer under hard cornering while decelerating.

3. Comes with everything you need, including polyurethane bushings to isolate the bar from the mounting hardware.

4. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being a strut tower bar, and 10 being a S/C or turbo install...

the RSB is a 1.5, maybe 2.

go for it.

I have the Stillen version and the nice thing about it is that
you can adjust it to vary the handling characteristics. Also, if you
choose a position that is not directly under the rear axle, you can
still use the rear axle as a jack point. But it costs more...

i have the addco. i noticed a real improvement when taking corners - the body just seems to roll a lot less. for the money, its a great mod. and from behind the car, it looks mean as hell!!

2. IMO There is a substantial difference in how the car behaves. There is some adjustability to the stiffness (depends on where you postion the brackets).

4. If you know how to swap out motors then installing a simple suspension bar shouldn't even come to question.

Also if you want to jack up the rear axle with the Addco bar in place you can stick a piece of wood between the axle and the Addco. I used a 1/2 set of old brake pads instead of a board.
