how do i get my 2k2 grill off?

im getting my grill re-painted black since the body shop forgot to do it when they fixed the deer damage.

i went out to my car to figure out how to get it off because my time is going to be pretty tight on friday and i was going to take the grill of myself and give it to the body shop to speed things up.

BUT i cant figure out how to do it. can anyone tell me anything helpful?

the 2K2 grill is attached to the bumper....

if you are gonna drive around without the bumper...take it off

I know that is not helpful...but alas..it is all one piece

I found that out when I got the speedscences grill put on my car!!

untrue. the 2k/2k1 grill is attatched to the bumper but the 2k2 is not. i was there when the body shop put it back on my car when i had it painted orginally back in march. but i wasnt paying close enough attention to where the clips and/or bolts are. but, it definitely is a seperate piece.

have you tried to unclip the bumper to remove the grill??

or better yet...call the bodyshop and ask them what the heck they did to get the grill off??

i did remove a few clips from the bumper that looked like they also went into the grill too but it still didnt want to come out.

the body shop was at a chevy dealer so i dont think they'd remember off hand. though, i dont think i need to take the grill of myself anymore. my plans have changed so i wont be in a hurry to get this done like i had expected. thanks for your help though.

Theres one 10 mm bolt on the far right and far left of tehe inside part of the grill, these bolts are about 5/6th of the way up the grill. There is also a 10mm in the center just to the right and left of the other 2 bolts. Once you get the 3 bolts out you have to tug on the grill real hard(from the center) and it will pop off. ET for removel is about 1-2 minutes.

Tools required: socket wrench, 3 inch extension and a 10mm socket.
