need some advice

i am thinking of getting a nitrous setup, but im not sure if my engine can handle it, or if it can for how long before i have problems. i have a 97 auto with 101k miles on it. you all think i would need the engine rebuilt or anything before i do this?

Depends on how gooda shape your engines in. If it runs/sound fine, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Mine has 164k and I'm spraying a 65 shot. (soon to be higher when I get my fuel pump .

I installed my first setup when the engine and tranny had over 150k. As mentioned, your engine's condition varies. Your engine may be in rough shape, where someone else's is just fine at that same milage. Are you the first owner? What kind of driving do you normally do? Car ever ran hot? To be honest, 101K in a decently maintained VQ is really nothing. I have an 85 max with over 250K on the original motor, and it's still running just fine.

You should at the very least have a compression check and maybe go ahead and install a fresh set of plugs when you decide to do your install. You should be fine if you have done the proper maintainance to your car.
