Medical Grade nitrous oxide

can medical grade nitrous oxide be used instead of the nitrous that you get at speed shops?

is it the same except the ones at speed shops put sulfer in the nitrous?

I too was wondering this... The speed shops use Nytrous with sulfer so you dont inhale it right? Instead of the Nitrous you would find medically...?

I asked this once before, and I was told that unless you have a pump to put it into your bottle that you would have to freeze the hospital bottle and run a line down to the 10lb bottle. I dont know... I'm too lazy to erase what I've written, but the answer is yes, but it would be really difficult to fill the 10lbs bottle completely.

Like I said with out a pump, you would have to freeze the tank to lower slow the molecule so when it thaws, I assume that it will create more pressure (I think) kind of away to cheat the system. If you have search capabilities, I asked this question last fall and I think Jime or jaime cbr900 told me about how to do this.

what kind of pressure do those little tanks hold anyway? Maybe we could just hook it up to a 4AN connection.

I was told that the actual chemical makeup of the two different types are, well, different. If I find my NOX installation manual, I will post on here what it says about the difference between the two.

yes you can use it. There is a gas station around where I live that has a nitrous fill station, and somehow thay managed to get the hookup on medical grade nitrous. It is better because sulfer is am oxidizer. Either that or you can have one big azz whipit!!!:-)

There is absolutly no performance difference between medical grade Nitrous and Nytrous Plus. There was a speedshop local to me that was selling medical grade and no one knew nor did anyone mention a difference. Nytrous Plus does contain sulfur but it's such a small amount that it does NOTHING to hurt performance. Read your bottles and you will see that it says "Contains less than 100ppm sulfur dioxide" . 100ppm means 100 parts per million or .001% or one ten thousanth of the total volume is SO2. It's only just enough to turn your brain into jello if you inhale it too many times. I have heard rumors of people inhaling this stuff to the point where they end up in the hospital as a vegetable. Im not certain it has happend but I am certain it can happen.

I still have to finish mine. It wasn't supposed to make anyone cloe their hoods. It was the only semi cool thing I had to show off since the car looks all stock (except for the slightly lower ride height). I missed out on meeting a lot of people there. Did I miss you too?
