Nitrous Oxide

Ok, in the near future, I am looking into putting a 50 shot Nitrous oxide system in my car.....for obvious reasons since I can't afford a Supercharger. However, do I need to get an UPRD ecu or anything like that? Do I need to get a valve body upgrade? Also, what shop/store/company offers drop in nitrous setups for the Max that are under $1000.00. Thanks guys

p.s. As you ca see, I am pretty clueless about nitrous.

Go to Zex's web site and click under their Performance Product Line link, tell's you all the good stuff. I believe they have systems for around the 550 range, plus they say all their systems were designed to work on stock set-ups. Good luck.

Re: Nitrous Oxide

Stay away from ZEX. Go with NOS or NX (Nitrous Express). I personally would go with NX because all their kits are wet setup. After all my research, I don't really like Dry setup.

What is the difference between the two?

What is the difference between a wet and a dry set-up. About how much would a wet setup cost from Nitrous Express? Why are the dry setups from ZEX not good, thanks.

the difference between dry and wet

wet systems inject fuel and the nos into the intake manifold.

dry systems just injectn NOS into the intake manifold.

you may also want to look into direct inject systems. I'm not sure if it is possible with the dual intake runners. I'm not all that familair with how the system works.

I would also look at JWT's NOS system. It is a very complete system and includes a piggy back ECU that controls the whole system. It is expensive, but it is a very complete system. you can purchace it from cattman at http://www.cattman.com . He sells it a a discount compared to the JWT prices..

is the nos bad for your engine? I have herd that it was but a lot of people are starting to get them for there imports. Does it strane your engie? Is it bad in the long run for your car? Is sounds like a great idea but not sure if it hurts it. I have 107,000 miles on my car is it worth it?
