1100psi and wantin more...

aight, so i sprayed my car for the first time thursday night.....and its freakin awesome. i went from running a 9.53 @ 78 to running a 9.31 @ 88.1. not a bad improvment for a 40 shot. my question is the obvious one......how in the hell do you control wheel spin? I mean, sure....im running 17x7 Konigs with 245/35 tires, but is there any way to fix this?

Get slicks and a nitrous controller unit.

any idea what size slick or dr i can run with those tiers and a car thats lowered almost 3 inches? I mean, all of my racing group drive mustangs, and im sure that a 245/45 will fit in the fenderwell but could somebody with 1st hand experience give me a hand here?

I would just look into a good drag radial that will be street friendly as well. Possibly a Nitto or BFG drag radial. Nitto will last longer on the street but the BFG will bite harder at the track.

Up your jet size to about a 80 shot, that will really get you addicted.

Im not really familar with Infiniti's and Maxima's too much. I just bought a 99 Infiniti I30 and still have my 97 Camaro Z28. I am used to spraying 150 shot on her but with other upgrades such as ignition and bigger fuel pump. Not sure about these motors though and what they can handle.

There are a few that have tried the 150 shot on the Max, but not too many. Deffinetly not for the faint of heart.

I've been running a 75 shot for about 8 months now on a stock motor except for more nitrous friendly spark plugs then what it comes with. I have not seen a problem yet. Planning on jumping to a 100 shot.

dont use it off the line. slicks or dr's will definitley help but still give you a little spin unless you work it right. i would try spraying in 2nd and up.

I'm one of them....It's such a rush to light up the tires at 60 mph on the highway ....I mean drag strip. Last year I was running 80 shot dry for stage 1, and 150 wet for stage 2. I was running 8.6 in the 1/8th, and low 13's in the 1/4 on just the 80 shot. I never ran the 150 at the track. I'm putting the nitrous back on after I get my Mustang back on the road.

oh jason if i do recall you never made a low 13 second pass on nitrous. I remember you saying your best was more like a high 13-second pass.

Im sorry but a 10mph improvement from a 40 shot is BS. What other mods on the car and was this at a track or on a stupid g-tech?

I was able to run on one of those "unapproved" asphalt places, and pulled a 13.2 on the slicks. Nobody will know the full details....Remember at the approved race track, I ran a 13.7 with a 2.25 60ft time. I also was able to get the slicks properly heated, and pull a 1.84 60 ft on the unofficial time. I must admit, this was with my G-timer, but it has never been off by more than .08 in the 1/4 mile.

For less wheelspin, don't spray out of the hole and learn to drive better.

Am I the only one who was told that running over like 1000 PSI could do more damage than good? I mean sure, you might get away with it for a while, but why not do it properly and get a bigger jet, etc....

Jason(Tapout)- What's the deal with your Max? Is it running? Spraying?
Jason(UNCDooD)- I thought you were selling your car?

And to answer the question of the poster......follow the advice of KsuMax. Don't spray out of the hole unless you got slicks and lots of practice. Try and wait until 2nd, you might end up running faster in the end.

Traction issues? Get rear wheel drive

Well I did alittle better this time around...I went to the track Sunday and managed a 9.11 @ 81 but had a pathetic 2.3 60' and only around 500 psi in the bottle. Stupid 60 degree weather and no bottle heater will do it though.

I can't wait to spray this thing after I get my VI installed. I'm sittin here looking at it in my living room...it needs to not be here

For Tapout - I went to a Walbro distributor's website and found no pump listed for a 99 Max. They show 89-94 as well as a few other Nissans. Do you remember the exact part # for yours? Check it out and you'll see what I mean http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/walbro/

81mph traps is a lot more realistic than the 88mph in your first post. Must have been a typo or an inaccurate timeslip.

You mean ....For slower times...Don't spray out of the hole. Try slicks that are heated, and shut it. Look at Mustangs running 7's in the 1/4 on drag radials.

95...My Max is running good, just ordered new parts from Corey, putting spray back on after Mustang is done.

Walbro 255 high pressure pump. Of course it is not listed, it is way more than the stock system should endure. You could also use the 190 low pressure pump, as it is designed for more volume, less pressure.

Yeah, I knew that we were talking about the 255, but my question is, if I wanted to order one for my car, I don't see one listed here.

Now I know this isn't ever pump made, but I don't have a clue what the part number is on the one that fits our cars.

You want the one for the 95-99 Eclipse, I have used it on 2 different Maxima's.

And will just any of the universal FPR's work or do you have a recommendation Jime?
