Cutout and Nitrous

Is a cutout enough exhaust flow for a 75 shot of nitrous? I guess I'm trying to find a cheaper way instead of buying a full exhaust system. I would just manually open the cutout when I'm ready to use the nitrous. Also I want to keep my stock muffler on so I look stock. Would this work?

Have you replaced all upper exhaust with a Y-pipe, or do you have the stock pre-cats still installed?

If you do, then spraying through those pre-cats could be pretty much a waste of time and nitrous......

If you have a full y-pipe, then a cutout would probably help you.. 5 hp is still 5 hp..

agreed, if you put the cut out before your cat but after your two sections come off your manifolds, that and you wanted to keep your stock cat back, I really think that would be a sweet sleeper set up, although it would be hella loud when you spray, even when you didn't spray but you get what I am sayin.

Exactly what I'm going for. It wouldnt be open until I got to the line. I'd like to see the look on peoples face when I rev up my "stock" automatic max with it open.

I may do it the way you did with the test pipe. Anybody think it would work if I put it at the end of my ypipe and keep my high flow cat?

a cutout with juice will give better top end pull and a huge boost in torque.

I am happy I didn't have to buy another complete setup! But the quality of Mccord's power plate is just as good as Quicktime! Many people have confirmed this on other forums. Since Mccord is cheaper and I KNOW they have great customer service, I went with them.

I can't say anything about Quicktime's customer service.

How is buying a cutout being cheap bout nitrous? i think its a smart move. leave stock catback on, then flip of a switch open cutout and spray.
