Help! Installed K and N intake

I installed the k&n intake and followed the instructions exactly and then reconnected the battery and engine fired up normally and I put it in reverse and it wouldn't let me shift it back into Park or drive!?! I then took off the shift lock to see if I could get it into Park and no luck. I just disconnected the battery and hope it's will reset itself. How the heck am I supposed to get this car back into gear?? Any suggestions?

So you couldn't shift it to drive either when you didn't cut the guard?

Yes you have to cut it remember this intake is not for 2016 that is the only thing you have to do to make it fit it will make a big difference and sounds good
