Anyone wrap their door handles?

Anyone wrap their door handles? If so, any tips or tricks? Recommendations for which vinyl brand is best to use? Any recommendations for color? I have a brilliant silver car so was thinking black handles with black rims and black roof pillars to make the entire roof black (with panoramic roof) or maybe silver carbon fiber on the handles with other black accents? Or find a silver as close as possible to the original. Any thoughts? I also plan on wrapping the chrome on the trunk (maybe silver CF or black) and front grill (black) as well as the window trim (black). Total chrome delete. Just curious on people's opinions and thoughts about what colors and locations I should use. Still deciding if I want black rims, hypersilver or gun metal. Im trying to think of the big picture before I make a decision that changes the direction I want to go. Thank you all in advance for you advice and help.

3M would be the best brand of Vinyl. I did my 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD in black Matte Vinyl around all the windows which was chrome. Here is a picture of it.

This was the vinyl I used. Before and After pic.

Thank you 04MaxKiller. The Acura looks dope. I will look into 3M for sure. Did you do yours yourself?

Yes, I did mine myself. Wasn't that hard. Just take your time. Yep, I miss my Acura. Had to sell it 3 years ago when I lost my job. Just driving a very old Camry right now till I pick up something new by the end of the year...thinking a Maxima again....or go to Lexus and get a GS350 FSport. Undecided.

Did you use a heat gun? I'm thinking I'll try it myself. I guess what worries me is the sticky mess when removing (if I change my mind) it but not 100% sure about that. Do you have any insight on what happens to the surface under the vinyl when it's removed. Especially if I'm using an adhesive promoter.

Yes, I did have to shrink in certain areas. It leaves no residue. I removed all of mine when I sold the car and it came off with no issues. At least the brand I bought above. No need to use any additional stuff other than vinyl.

Great. Thank you so much. And by brand above you are referring to 3M brand?

This brand. It may have been 3M. I am not sure. But I know 3M will also not leave residue.

I wrapped mine, bought some gloss black 3M wrap from Amazon. I need to redo one of them as this was the first time I attempted it and messed up a little. Overall it was not hard, just takes some patience and a heat gun.

Is the chrome trim delete on the windows sprayed either plasti-dip or auto dip? Doesn't look like it's vinyl.

Did you wrap everything while on the car or did you remove pieces?

The only thing i wrapped are the door handles and they stayed on the car. The rest of the chrome delete is all plastidip, no pieces were removed from the car. The front splitter was painted gloss black before installing.

I am kinda a body-color guy when it comes to door handles...do any wraps key in on manufacturer body colors as I have a white platinum and it seems it would be difficult to match this metallic white color.

White is the hardest color to match period. Trying to wrap it the same would be extremely difficult, may not even be possible. Best bet is to have it painted.

I also thought about color marching my handles, and figured If I went with a silver (my car is silver) carbon fiber vinyl, it would work. My old car was white and I had white carbon fiber vinyl door handles and some chrome delete that wasn't black. Just a suggestion, as the white CF would have some shades that match and wouldn't stick out horribly.

Wrapped them in black carbon fiber to see what it'd look like......as mentioned by Jared526, i'm gonna try the white carbon fiber too and see how it looks, i think that may be the best option (on white) outside of having them painted to color match.

Thanks for the shoutout! Can't wait to see it. I'm still deciding myself. I know I'm doing the roof pillars in black to match the panaramic roof and the chrome delete around the windows in black. But still torn on the door handles, trunk and grill chrome. I still am trying to figure out a full grill mod without the ginormous emblem. I'll keep you all posted as things get finalized. I guess the great think about vinyl is that I can easily remove it and try again.

So here is the passenger front wrapped in carbon white.....maybe its the night time garage lighting but im not digging it at this point. Will see what it looks like out in the sun tomorrow morning.
Wrapping the roof this weekend in carbon black and installing the Eibach lowering springs....initial thought is that i'll make all the handles carbon black to match the roof.....curious if there is a carbon white (or a cream) pearl wrap? because this white is just too white

With you having silver, if you can find a wrap to match that would be sweet. If not then i think gloss black to match the roof/ A pillars would look nice man. Keep us posted on your progress!

There is a satin pearl white vinyl on EBay that matches pretty damn good to the pearl paint. Everyone asks me if I had all the chrome painted. It's all wrapped with vinyl.

Been traveling

Hey everybody I'm back, I've been traveling for the last few months. It's finally time to wrap my doorhandles, and I'm curious what do I do with the buttons on the front driver and passenger door and the keyhole, do I cover them? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I Plastidipped my handles black for this reason. I couldn't figure out what to do about the buttons if I wrapped them.

Just wrap over them. no issues at all with the button working and you will never need the keyhole as long as you maintain your remote battery.
