I *think* there are lots of 3rd gens in the NYC area. You guys always have big meets and stuff. I really want to add the trans go kit to my auto but I don't trust any of the local guys. PLUS for 36 bucks this thing is to cheap to pass up. I CAN'T afford 400(don's) on a college kids budget.

SSOOOOOOOOOO. I think lots of you guys would be interested.

Namely ME, DanNY, Da-Max, otheres..etc...

I'm in Buffalo but plan on comming to a big NYC meet this spring. Maybe us 3rd geners should meet at the asscrack® of dawn and install those bad boys

No doubt!!!!

if enough of us upper east coast guys can get it and you NY guys can get a reputible shop or an experienced person to do installs, I'd take a day off and shoot up there from MD! keep us posted.......

I got the transgo kit installed on my 88 max! It works really good, tightened all the shifts and made the car faster. Definite improvement!

well here's a problem...
in NYC area there's a lot of grease monkeys out there waiting for you to give them your $$. IMO that's not too kosher. once i know someone does the kit then i'll give it a try and do it myself. it's not the $36 bucks but it's more of the actual labor of putting that kit in. maybe i'll order the kit and look at the instructions. if it looks simple enough then i'm a go on it. maybe i should go find a VB from another car and practice on that first...anyone know where i can get a VB? i know the junkyards won't tear up a tranny because of the VB...so anywhere else?

chris read my other post 'automatic shift kits'. i got a friend whos really into drag racing and said he'd install a kit for me for free. i dont know when we are going to do this install, but i'll post some pics and instructions on my webpage as soon as i do it and i'll post in here about it. this kid actually chose an automatic over a stick and put a shift kit in and he said it works better for drag racing. so, its definitly a mod worth the money.

a 5spd is probably still going to be quicker....the only reason an auto would be "better" for drag racing is consistency...you really can't f*ck up much with an auto...with a 5spd you have to worry about the launch and not missing shifts on the way down the track...

for all 3rd genners trying this to practice

if you all live in Atlanta. To help you guys out. Try pull-a-parts Junkyard. They also have cars on wheels on wheels so its easier to get under and higher off the ground. Just to help yall out.

exactly the type of junkyard i was talking about...U-Pull-its are the best....car already in the air and you have the power to remove whatever you want as long as you can carry it out

Re: Re: for all 3rd genners trying this to practice

good idea..the only problem is that i believe the VB is on TOP of the tranny. there's no pan or anything at the bottom part of the tranny. it's like a regular auto but unside down. so the higher it is then harder it's for u to get to.

chris if u can get the VB for me that would be great. let me know the cost and etc. thanks!
maybe i'll do a VB mod service???
