I just bought a CAI from Cattman for my '99 SE. It comes with a few pieces of paper the manufacturer (Place Racing) refers to as an "Installation Guide" if you can call it that. In a word...It stinks!

I am trying to figure out where the paper template is supposed to go so that I can cut through the wheel well. It is supposed to line up over the battery holder mounting holes, but I can seem to get it situated to where I would be confident enough to cut my beloved SE.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Jim

As far as I remember from my install, you have to remove the battery holder and line up the template with the holes.

You have to remove the battery tray->

the template then can line up againest some of those holes that holds the battery tray.

I was able to start cutting the hole, but as I am using a small jigsaw with a metal cutting blade, I can only get so far before I run out of room to use the saw. The jigsaw isn't very good in small spaces.

What else could I use to finish the cut?

Once that is done, how can I access the space beneath so that I can mount the air filter element?

Thanks,

Jim

Doug,

Do you mean those round saw attachments to a standard drill?

Also, what's Tony's email address? His install looks good.

Thanks,

Jim
