Boost exhaust question
Boost exhaust question
I see that the turbo guys are running 3 inch exhaust while the SC'd folks are typically running 2.5 inch
Is there a reason to run 3 inch on a turbo car?
Is it better to run 3 inch on a SC'd car?
Or is it all dependant on how much boost your running?

and on the stock pulley 2.5 is ok?
so I guess what youre saying is depends on the application and what amount of psi you want

You getting boost? If so dont get scared. Get the 3.33 or smaller.

Oh, and I have Greddy SP and warpspeed test pipe. 2.5 all the way! The muffler shop said they didnt want to mess with it, so I guess I will do it tomorrow......
Less back pressure will help a turbo spool faster. Thats the only difference. Once they start boosting the same exhaust flow capicity will be needed. For a turbo or sc car running under 8-10psi 2.5 will be fine, over that 3" will flow better and you will gain power and torque.

Like they said both. From the CAT back on my car is 2.5 inch pipe. my inlet on my muffler is 2.5 inch.
my exhaust on my muffler is TWO 2 inch pipes... 5th gen muffler
Hope that helps
And shogun is correct

I had my car inspected a couple of weeks ago. I have boost, EGT and fuel pressure gauges in but not the blower yet. I was waiting in the lobby and I could hear the dumbass technician revving my engine up - trying to get it to show boost on the boost gauge, I presume. Later, he had a smirk on his face when he handed me back my keys. I guess he thought I was some kind of poser. It was then that I wished that I had thought of leaving the blower on the passenger seat to indicate a work in progress.
