15psi I could not believe my eyes.

I pushed the car this morning after doing some work to it over the past few weeks. I finally got the full 3" exhaust from Warpseed on and soted out. I also had my blower rebuilt, basic seals and bearings job. The air temp was in the teens so I'm sure the baro pressure was very high too, so the cold dense air is prolly the main reason for the increase in boost. I am getting some surging from 5500rpms up, I think I may need to drop the spark plug gap down even lower, I am at ~.035" and I see most turbo cars running ~ .026-.028" I hope that fixes the problem. It could also be the belt slipping but I doubt that. The J&S is doing its thing, it did need some adjustment to deal with the extra 1.5psi. It does feel faster, the full 3" system is a big help. I should dyno it in a few weeks so we can see how big of a gain I got

Sounds like you're on your way. Dropping the gap would be a good idea, JWT had me down to .022.

The WSP 3" system is pretty good. The Y bolted up perfectly. The alignment betweent the cat and test pipe flanges was a bit off so swaping the cat in for inspections will be a PIA. No bumping or rubbing. It had a Magnaflow straight through muffler, it was very deep sounding, but the droaning from 0mph-80mph was horrid!!! I installed a dynomax turbo muffler, its baffled and it is much more livable. If I was still 16 and hanging out at the street races every night it would be a different story, but for a 31 yr old father of 2 it wasnt too cool. Besides, HP for DB is not a trade off I am willing to make, were only talking a few HP for alot of DB. The straight through can be swapped back on for race days etc. No pics yet, sorry.

This is good to know, I prefer DB over HP as well. Why didnt you go with their freeflow cat? Do you have a resonator installed?

I have both a cat and test pipe, their is very little difference in the noise level. A resonator is also installed.

I will get this with the dynamax muffler like yours (unless I can put up with the DB from the megaflow). How much did all this run you?

Woah, what did you set the boost at? I hope it wasn't at 11 psi because that would really suck.

I gapped the plugs to ~.030" and the high rpm missing is gone.

wooooohoooo man that is some crazy boost Matt, can't wait to see the dyno.

Yeah I would say that a slight hp loss is with worth the noise reduction.

Now that I have a real exhaust, I think all I need is an intercooler to catch up to the turbo club

Nah! What you need is that VQ35 to produce crazy torque and power, then you'll pass the turbo club!

ya know, this might be a treson act against the dsm camp, but you know what. you guys are pulling some sick hp/trq from those vq's now

i have to ask this

bone stock motor? never been opened?

i would like to see a dyno chart of 15 psi on one of those.

you're getting into my range of psi now. im averaging 18 psi daily.

ohhhhh. but you're faster

{crys}

Bone stock. This chart is at ~14psiG before the blower rebuild, the exhaust had a stock 00' Maxima mufler with a 2.25" inlet, I have a full 3" exhaust now so I should have picked up ~20-30whp from that, it feels allot better! If I add an intercooler with ~70% efficiency rating I should pick up another ~20-30whp. The big help with the intercooler will be in the TQ department, notice how flat my curve is after 5.5k, if I cool the air down I can put back more ignition timing. I am pulling ~1.2deg per ~1lb of boost from 9psiG up, 5-6 degrees of timing is ALLOT! On an NA car you would feel it big time. I still got the nitrous to tune back in with the new set up, so slap another 40hp and at least 100tq on top of that Muuuhahahahahahaha I better get that new motor finished soon
