Haltech ECU anyone?

It might work differently on the VG since the ignition system differs...but truthfully most of the Z31s I've seen either use Motec or SDS. that might be more wise being that it is more widely used. I know that the one guy who had the turbo 3rd(full ET swap) gen down in FL a few years ago was using a Tec II standalone, he said for one it was a ***** to install and two even afterwards it was problematic. I still think unless you're making some MUCHO, MUCHO power and truly need down to the wire tuning than go standalone, but for the VG or VGT in the 450-500fwhp range, JWT is still the safest, easiest and cheaper choice in my eyes. good luck anyways

for what i can get the haltech for the jwt ends up being more expensive. i can get the haltech, hook it up, and tune everything i want myself whereas the jwt is tuned for what i have at the moment. when i go to upgrade something i just change some things on the haltech whereas on the jwt i would have to send it back to them and get it programmed again.

I want to sell the Max to start the 240 so I'm going back to basics. Probably JWT or AFC's gotta see if the JWT will fixed that funny idle thing after full boost like the AFC will when using a MAF.
I HIGHly suggest using something other than Haltech plus the company just closed thier doors in the States. The company may not be doing to well.

You get dyno time for free?? "tuning a haltek" means shelling out extra cash for numerious dyno sessions or bucking up for a quality EGT sensor/guage. Both aren't cheap. JWT, plug and play.

before he starts. Make 100% sure he knows how the Maxima trigger and Home signal works. If he's thinking he's working on a Honda he's in for a rude awakening. Really I'm not saying that if we couldn't get it to work no oneone else can but I want to save you some head aches before you start.
I had an eletrical engineer helping me and he tunes standalones all the time. I just decided to stop because it was getting to crazy to work like stock. I wanted a stock look and not all rigged up to make it work.

he hates hondas. he specializes in rotaries but can do just about anything. we should hopefully be able to figure something out. i'm getting a little scared with all of the stuff you guys are saying but hopefully we can get this to work. recently turbo magazine (or named something like that) is covering one of the cars he's working on. a mitsubishi mirage that he dropped an evo engine and drivetrain into. he was going to make it awd but the owner decided to go fwd for now. i'm not sure when they will be putting it in the magazine but should hopefully be soon.
