Anyone ever swapped a V1 for a V2?
I caleld Vortech and spoke with Chris. He seems pretty good customer service wise.
We discussed swapping the V1 for a V2.
He said:
1) It will bolt straight on, as it is the exact same bolt pattern as on the V1.
2) If my V1 is in good shape, it will give me a $1000 credit. The V2 blower costs $1950. Total cost to swap - $950.
This sound right?
Thanks!

hmm $950 to move to a V2...isnt the T-trim impeller upgrade in the $900-$1000 range? for that kind of money i would consider a move to the T-trim.
on a more related note...ever consider trading someone on the .org your V1 for their V2 instead of shelling out $950?

What blowers are these? Will they fit onto the V1 bracket?
I'm not about to have my car down for a month or two while I have to have stuff custom fabricated.
I'll let others live on the bleeding edge.....people who have a 2nd car at least.

probably due to the fact that its a pretty new thing. it was released on vortechs website on August 4th of this year. the combination of it being new and expensive (nearing the $1k mark) probably hasnt lent it to being an easy to swallow mod/upgrade.
here is the link to the info on vortech's site...

THat article is for the CCW Unit.
Are our units CCW?
looking at that article, it would actually be cheaper to go to the T-Trim!
Only thing is that it would be Straight Gears still, and I'd still be dealing with the V1 SC whine.

T trim has been an option for a while. I30Krab has had it for a while. I considered it, but decided I wanted the peace and quiet of the V2. The T trim really does not build boost faster, just allows for more of it.
I think I paid 980 or something for my upgrade, the polishing was 100 more. So the price was 880 or so for the V1 --> V2 upgrade. Well worth it.
Of all the money I have sunk into the car, that was one investment I do not regret. V1 plate (less headaches) with the V2 blower was definitely the route to go. My V1 was SUPER loud anyways. According to most people, it was the loudest V1 they had ever heard on a Max.

Well, my post has been in the FS section for a couple of days now with no replies.
So probably I'll just end up selling some stock and buying the V2 upgrade.
Then there's the 3rd option - Selling my whole SC Kit for $2500 and taking another $1000 and getting a Turbo.

Noise? More boost?

All the turbo companies had their odd problems, I'm not going to say who had the most but I'm sure someone else can chime in with that info.
Where the heck are you going to get one for $3500? The cheapest I've been offered is over $4000.

different blowers
thet trim is a larger blower-- i have gotton rid of the "stock"v2 sc trim blower and put on a s trim. the blowers that come with the stillen kit are the s trim with a "shaved down impeller" i researched all of this before putting this beast in my max. the s trim is the same blower that comes in the mustang h.o. kit. capable of 500 horses.
