my friend has a 01 gtp with 3.6 pulley intake and catback and 245's on the front and has serious traction issues. in stock form it ran 14.8, his best modded is 14.3. and it does feel like his car runs out of steam at about 5000rpms

Where is he going to mount it that would not require a hood modification?
Congrats to you, I hope everything works out perfectly.

I may get more traction issues, but no more then what my friends old SVT Lightning had. An ungodly amount of torque to the rear wheels of a truck suspension = spinning away.
Jase, don't hate just becuase you jumped on the Turbo bandwagon and have conformed. You try to be unique with your car but have been pWn3d by the Eaton setup, and are jealous that you didn't think of it yourself.
Tony, i'm just a perfectionist, especially when it comes to my car. I gotta have everything right. Theres a ton of little things about my car that bug the **** out of me, like the damn rivits on my stillen side rockers that AREN'T supposed to be there, that emit a nasty SQUEEEEK whenever I shut my door. (they get caught) When it comes down to it, I can step back and realize that it's just a car, but it's my hobby, so as long as i'm sporting it I gotta have it perfect.

That still says absolutely nothing about how it will react on my engine. The VQ is a MUCH better breathing engine then the 3800. The Pontiac has a what, 16V pushrod? We have a DOHC 24V motor. So like the DOHC Cobra, our engines will not run out of steam anywhere near 5000rpm!
I hope the boost loss doesn't accur until ~5800rpm (I think thats the GTPs redline?) and is only like a psi or two.

my kit puts out best pound per pound numbers
your car is slow

I dont think you can compare the two engines. DOHC vs pushrod, 3.0 vs 3.8. It will be quite interesting to see what happens with this. Good luck bro. And yes I agree you are too obsessed with sound lol.

I am truly hurt that you think it's a lame idea! I mean, wow. I am just now wiping the tears from my eyes, from the pain you're verbal abuse is causing me. Seriously, I can't take this abuse from you anymore, becuase I really do care what you think!
To everyone else, thanks for the props, and pray that everything turns out ok! Tom seems like he knows what to do but you never know when little problems are going to come up! Monday better get it's @ss here fast.

Hey Craig,
I am in the process of a similar project. I picked up an M90 from the junk yard for 100 bucks. It's a little beat up, but I thought if the project turns out I can get a better blower. I looked at the Accord supercharger setup for a bunch of ideas. The only thing I was wondering about was what is necessary, if anything, to get the internal bypass to work properly. Otherwise I was planning a shaft to the battery side of the engine compartment, and coupling the blower to that. Alignment wouldn't be so critical then. Homemade manifold under the blower, and CAI into the fender for incoming air.

Excellent
Good luck with that thing man...
And you may ignore anyone who says you will get stuck at the line spinning the tires... most of the folks here in OQCGP land (local GP chapter that I hang out with) run high 13's off a 3.2", cone, and PCM
Where the heck do you live? Maybe I'll make a road trip to hear a maxima that sounds like my GTPs did...
Oh and also remember this blower is mass-produced for Benzes and Minis (hence BMW) as well.. that's why some riceboys in GP-land buy Kompressor badges and pop them on their GTP's trunklids..

The blower arrived today!!! It's huge! It weighs ~40lbs. There is a part of the throttle body attached to the back, that I will proly take off. Overall it looks in good condition. I tried spinning the pulley and it has tons of resistence, like it will barely turn. Is that normal with this type of blower?
I called Tom today to let him know it was in and he said bring it by tommorow (tuesday) around 3:30 and we'll get started. I told him many doubt he can pull off the mounting and he said that should be one of the easier parts, and that this is definately happening.
So, like I said before, unless something freak happens, I should be Roots blown by the end of the week!
I'm soo happy, my *dream* is finally coming true.

I put the blower up to the engine, and its going to be a tight as HELL fit. The nosedrive is going to have to extent in front of the engine block, the battery will have to go of course, and maybe even that black box to the side of it. The piping is going to be TIGHT too. Some **** in the front of the engine bay may have to be moved as well.
