SC oil return line is a nissan part.

i remember reading a few post about how the oil return line was a nissan part. I do not remember reading if anybody figured out what part it was. i think i figured out which nissan part it was.

top one is the stock crank case ventallation hose on the 4th gen maxima.

bottom is the oil return line that i ordered from stillen a few weeks ago.

i stumble across a box full of stock parts while cleaning my garage this weekend. i matched the two part side by side and this is what i found.
the oil return line cost me $27 dollars i believe retail on the hose is closer to $35 or so. something like this sould cost around $12 dollars at nissan. maybe even less.

what do you guys think???

sorry if this is a repost.

You can go to a hardware store and make and cut one to lenght for 5 dollars. It just won't be stiff like those hoses.

Back from the dead!

Can anyone confirm that the SC return hose is the same as the nissan crankcase vent hose? I think mine is leaking.

Yep. My hose had recently cracked and a new part was ridiculously priced at the stealership. I looked through my left-over parts box from the SC install and used that hose. It works perfectly!

Sorry to bring this back up, but I just wanted to post my experience with this.

I just tried using this today and it did not fit well. The inner hose diameter is too large and too loose when hooked up. I ended up using a nissan power steering hose (like the ones removed to do the power steering lines relocation). It's a tight fit, but I'd rather have a tight fit than for it to slowly drip oil.

well if your using a old crank case breather hose they do thend to stretch a bit and the heat makes the hoses harden thats probably why it did not fit. I used that hose and had absolutly no problems.

blackcat you are telling me that you are willing to spend $2000 + on supercharging you maximas but you are to cheap to spend $20 on an oil return hose????? are you kidding me!?!??!?!

Ohh okay maybe that's why. I was trying to use my old/original crankcase breather hose. Now that you mention it, the hose did feel really stiff to the touch.

jdmmax, I have no idea why you even had to comment on this when the problem has been resolved back in June.
