I'd get a turbo instead of a SC. I've yet to see any advantages a SC has over a turbo.

Hes new at it. Look at the questions hes asking? would you want him to go to turbo? probably not, hes very clueless.

The SCer kit is a bolt on kit and comes with everything you need to get it up and running. Comes with a fuel pump. You will need gauges, BOV and metal pullies and youll be on your way.

I guess the ease of install would be the only reason. I installed one and it was VERY easy, only hard part was actually getting all the rusted bolts out of the car to put it on. I was just basing my answer on power gains, and mostly people like you who seem to ditch the SC for a turbo kit. Sooner or later he'd get the TC anyway so he might as well save some cash. If he takes his time and reads the BOOST forum he won't be AS clueless.

It's not THAT easy nOOb.

This forum provides a lot of information and help to those presently and futurely boosted guys. But you cant just sit in front of a computer and expect to learn everything.

I learned by actually DOING it. And I'm STILL learning. I helped JAY25 install his turbo and bags533 do a motor swap.

I'd reccomend just trying to be around more people in your area...and gettin more info on what all turbos vs. superchargers DO and provide.

You'll learn alot and then think twice if you want boost.

Two if your new and are clueless theres abit more then just slapping a turbo on a car. A SCer is very consistent vice turbo specially during winter time. You may spike you might not. A SCer is very easy to tune and you can keep on adding stuff etc.. like 3 inch exhaust. You add a 3 inch exhaust to a turbo, it will change the way the car boosts. What does that mean. You may need to go dyno tune to get the AF ratio right since you now have more pressurized air coming in. I am just giving you my two cents since I own both SCer and turbo.

Whats more reliable? is your question

A SUPERCHARGER is more reliable period. why is it reliable? because if you have metal pullies and no belt issues then what are your chances of getting stranded on the side of the road or blowing seals on a blower? Zero to none! unless the SCer has a hell of a lot of mileage on it. A turbo you have to spend some money on stupid electronics to protect your investment.

the blower can last up to 100K. Like all things depends how you take car of the car. Its cooled and lubed by the engine oil. You have to keep up w/the maintence of your car at all times.

- Easy install
- No lag, instant boost

Yes, yes very easy install. Easier then a clutch/flywheel, easier then a turbo install.

WTF?

Better than everyone? Who are you say something like that man? I'm not as expericanced as JAY25, or a LOT of other guys here on the org, and trust me - we're NOT "getting on his case".

How would you feel if you spend $3,000+ on something you know nothing about and then your car messes up and you don't know what to do or where to turn?

And we ARE helping him out. It may be better for him NOT to get boost, or he could learn a lot then it could be better for him.

i know somthings about boost, i was just trying to learn more, thanks for all you guy's help, turbos are nice, but dont have the money to crack out for it, right now just sorta working on pocket change. I have an Air ride kit that is brand new only like 30-50 miles on it, that i am looking to sell, and the money that i get from that i will invest it into a supercharger thats why i am not looking for a turbo, granted a turbo is nice, but its just not my style not to much into them, thanks alot though guys for your help.... if anyone is selling one, please PM me.
