Hmmmm, IIRC, we didn't put either when we did Ian's S/C. I dunno if it's absolutely neccessary. Though I'd wait to see what the everyone else thinks.

i took the s/c over to a machine shop they took of those bolts with ease. five mins to be exact.. it had lockite blue all over them.. the machine shop said that you have to put it or the vibrations will slowly loosen them... since it was so easy for them to get off i didnt see a problem with it.. but i know what you mean i couldnt budge those suckers... they used a torque gun and the socket allen bolt wrench.
cost me lunch...

Aaahh wrong that wont happen. I have tightened my bolts with 3/8 ratchet wrench and to take them off I need a steel pipe. The heat will tighten the **** out of them bolts. You can go on ahead and put loctite on those bolts if you want. Good luck taking them off.

I agree with Jay25 and I would rather deal with loose bolt than stripped bolts. trust me on this one. Plus, if you torque it to 35lb/ft, it is very hard to get loose.

Those allen key socket is not designed for air tool. Kevin had snapped 2 of them on my SC bolt and we still ended up drilling the bolt. We finally got it out with an extractor. Antiseize is your friend.

make sure you get some extra replacement bolts from Jay25 and when you start to see the hexagon hole is out of shape, replace it.

Yeah, loctite isn't neccessary. I've tightened the the bolts on Ian's S/C, and we had to remove the S/C from the bracket before putting em back in because I forgot to place one of the bolts to mount the bracket in that have to go in before you put the S/C on the bracket and those things were a little difficult to remove.
