Tach Stopped Workin

Well after my blower install I cant even drive my car

All day my tach had been sticking at 2000 rpms but it would still advance after alittle hesitation past 2k...

Right now It just stopped working..it goes all the way to 2000-2200 but doesnt advance any more.

What could this be ?? the cars running fine and going up in the RPM's fine just not on the gauge ?? anyone know the workings of the tach and if I need the entire cluster or reapair...cluster is 100$ and repair would prob be alot...maybe somethign is loose..anyone know

Anyone ?? I know the Supercharge/Turbo guys know the most on this board and prob have some experience with this...Do I bother 1) taking off the cluster looking for a lose plug/wire or 2) order a cluster from a junk yard and match up Milage somehow? or 3) see if nissan sells Just the Tach and order it from them if i get lucky and its not ONE UNIT ??

Matty:

been reading posts of yours for ever!!! but never replied. Anyways I did th eold cheston and pulledmy needles for the reverse infiglo look for needles and maybe your needles have maybe just jammed upped....very unlikely but, first I would do some ohm(ing)/ volt checking of the sending wire vs manual. If I were you I'd search ebay/local junk yards and find a new cluster and try that last.

one thing to check before ripping the old tach out is if you have any rpm based accessories running off the ecu tach wire (ie. rpm switch for mevi)

try undoing it and see if the tach works.
