i was going to get a walbro fuel pump gss342 255lph....i called this shop and they dont have any for maximas but they had a walbro gss342 for a 1998-1999 nissan sentra 255lph...the part number was gss342 (400-954).....will this fuel pump fit on my 96 maxima??? do i need to make any modifications???

It's plug and play... kit is originally for a DSM so you won't need the "install kit"; reuse original pickup.

Note you WILL have a higher base fuel pressure! about 42psi

 

it will fit. they do not make a kit for 4th gen maximas but the model is walbro gss342. pimpjuice has them for a good deal if you want (around $90 shipped i think) and you can find instructions to install in the 4th gen how-to forum. you have to shave the plastic tabs at the bottom of it to make it fit in the fuel pump housing but you can just use a regular knife to do that. very easy to do.
