97 J30 Maf

I just purchased a 97 J30 MAF, but the part # is different.

part # 22680 3lUOO

I'm getting my ECU reprogrammed by JWT for a z32 MAF, will this still work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

If it's from a J30, then it will work.

I spoke to someone at JWT just a little while ago, unfortunately, it seems that it will not work. He said it has to have the #3OPOO.... Hopefully they will let me switch this one out, thanks for the reply.

You probably spoke to Ben. As usual, he is misinformed. It is a well known fact among Z32 and 240sx circles that the J30 maf sensor is the same as the Z32's. I have one, and the resistance measurements for the hot wire filament and the heater element are identical to my Z32 maf.

Agreed... Don't listen to Ben. Like stephen said, it's well known around nissan circles that J30 MAFs are interchangeable with z32 MAFs. The thing you will learn if you deal with JWT enough is that it is a very poor idea to call them up and ASK them questions. You need to call them up and tell them EXACTLY what you want and just have them do it. If you ask them questions they will give you misinformation, tell you certain things won't work, give you the runaround, etc.

accually the guy at jwt is right

only 91-95 j30 mafs are the same as 300z mafs

go to car-part.com and do a search on 97 j30 air flow meter

you will find that 96-97 j30s use the same maf as all stock 4thgens and 97-01 q45s

Without verifying that, I'll take your word for it and I stand corrected. Thanks for the useful information.
