O2 in Cattman resonator..Use it or lose it?
O2 in Cattman resonator..Use it or lose it?
After installing and troubleshooting the SC, it was finally time to install the Cattman catback this weekend. This would complete my exhaust set up for now. After installation, I will have all Cattman components consisting of: y-pipe, Fastcat, and catback. I'm ditching the Stillen catback because it's a little bit too raspy and loud.
Anyway, after unwrapping the resonator, I noticed a bung for an O2. I read his instructions, and he says the 2001-2003 Maximas need it. Well, I'm torn on what to do about this. In the very near future, I would like to have a Wideband O2 data logging unit. So, I could very easily throw the 02 from the data logger in resonator and be done with it, or put the O2 from the data logger in the y-pipe (my initial plan) and tell Cattman to get me a resonator w/o the O2 bung.
I know the A/F ratios won't be as accurate considering it will be after the cat, but by how much? Is it really that critical to get the readings before the cat?
Opinions?
Thanks guys.
James

He's asking if he should use it for his upcoming A/F gauge since he already has the 'wrong part' in his posession (easier but perhaps less accurate). Or should he return it for the correct part (no bunghole) and later place his A/F O2 further upstream (more work but probably more accurate).
