Putting down the power

Looks like it will be a month or two before I turn the boost up. Sent my ECU into JWT and they said at least 3 weeks....so probably two months

I was gonna pruchase a used JWT 550, Z32 program but it was for an auto Maxima and I decided I did not want to put up with the CEL's. I would have had to remove the injectors, MAF, and put the stock ECU back in for emissioins testing. So I just said *** it and sent my I30 ECU into JWT

So in the mean time I got some other goodies to play with. Some 245/50/15 Dunlop SP 8000. Not my first choice in tires but they are literally the only company that makes a wide sticky 15" tire. My 215/60/15 Potenza RE950's are great tires but they can't begin to hold my current 260wtq, let alone what I will be putting down with 10-11 psi.

Also picked up an MEVI so my power will stop falling on it's face after 5.5K rpm's. The 7.2K rev limiter and MEVI will be sweeeeeeet! Once I am out of first I will never see anything below 350 whp.

Sure. I was actually going to paint the top cover and lock-tight the screws today so I will take pics for you. I know I have seen other post pics with the top removed before....what exactly do you want to see? The butterfly valve system?

Yeah, how it works basically.....individual butterflys/rod/etc.

I can find others posts, just figured it would be easy/fast for ya, so don't bother if it's a PITA.

No, it is not a problem to do. Like I said, I planned on messing with it today.

What wheels are you going to put the 245's onto? 15" wheels with turbo must accelerate pretty quick!

15x7.5 15lb rims off a early 90's Q45. I love rolling on my 15's I don't pretend to road race or autox so I don't need a lower profile tire. Just acceleration baby!

I see, that's pretty cool. They look similar to old I30 wheels. But i would strongly recommend getting wider wheels, as 245's is too wide for such a narrow wheel.

Per Tire Racks website the manufacturer recommended rim width range is 6.5"-9.5". He's fine on 7.5" rims.

Yep, I would not try squeezing on too wide of a tire on a narrow rim. And since they are 15's there is more side wall flex to work with.

man i might have to pickup 2 of those wheels at the junkyard thats a good size

i ran a 235 on stock 3rd gen 6.5 wide rim it was alittle strang looking but was fine so 245 on a 7.5 should be no problem ive read about NA 300zxs running 255s on a 7.5 in the back

I actually have a lead on another set of 4. I only need two, would you be interested in the other two. Don't have a price yet, but it is kind of a "hook up" situation so I think it would be cheap

Every tire manufacturer I can think of says 245 is fine for a 7.5" rim until you start getting down into the 40 and lower profile.

With a 50 series it'll be no problem putting 245 on a 7.5".

Man fxck keeping the VI operational. You need to remove torque. Just pull the plates man. I burn down 245's in first and second and I'm not even boosted.

No offense, but those tires look very funny on there. I bet straight line traction must be pretty good with that squishy tire footprint. But when the sidewalls rollover in a turn, watchout!

Thats what the rear of my 240 is gonna look like. If they have strong sidewalls rollover should be minimal with 40+ PSI.
