supercharger maintenence?

Hey guys.. I just bought a 98 max with a supercharger...I was just wondering if there was anythin that I should do as far as maintenence. I think its been on the car for a while, more than 10k miles. The motor itself only has 75k miles though. Any recommendations? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I would check all the belts first, and ask the previous owner what kind of setup he is running, what kinda injectorsm fuel namagement system, etc, you need to know all of this just for your own knowlage in case something goes wrong.

You will need to keep regular upkeep of the oil system. Synthetic oil with a good filter (OEM is known to be one of the best) at a good interval is highly recommended. Belts are also very important.

Learn everything that has been done to the car. The fuel system is something important to look at.

I'll just echo what h2kSPiG said about maintaining regular oil changes. There's no reason a blower can't last a good long time if you keep clean, synthetic oil in it. My V1 blower has more than 100k miles on it, and it looked brand new inside when I recently took it apart. The seals don't leak and it doesn't make any more noise than when I first got it. It has only had Mobil 1 in it, and I change the oil every 3k miles.

Also try not to tighten the belt more than what you need to prevent belt slip. Get the belt to where it doesn't squeal when you have the AC turned on as a starting point. That will probably not be enough tension to prevent belt slip when you are boosting. Do some WOT runs to full boost and keep track of the boost pressure. If you see it drop before hitting your rev limiter, then tighten the belt half a turn of the adjustment nut. Do this until you are maintaining full boost pressure at the rev limit. Smaller pullies require more belt tension due to the decreased contact surface.

yeah lof (lube oil and filter) is the most crucial part of maintenance on any car, definitly use mobil 1 and change it every 3k. also don't get any thicker than 10-30w b/c if you do it will be to thick and it may cause overheating. or damage to internals i've seen it.

Does the s/c have it's own oil reservoir? I was of the mind that it didn
t have its own oil supply and instead used the main.

Theres a Feed Line and a Drain Line from your engine Oil . . . .
Feed from the Oil pan with an SS line and drains to Cover that covers the Water pump access with a modified cover and rubber hose
