I have an SSQV, but for some reason it doesnt sound like the clips. I get more of a flutter sound than the other cars seem to get, but maybe thats because of low boost.

You can incorperate a bov to an S/C'ed setup but its rarely necessary. The S/C is RPM based so when the engine slows down so does the S/C. On a turbo setup when you slow down or shift you have to worry about compressor surge, which mean that the pressure youve built has to release. If you dont have a bov then the air will come back out through the turbo causing the turbine to slow or possibly even reverse direction which means it will take that much longer before you can build positive manifold pressure.
Oh, and they will sound roughly the same.

so what do you do when there's air that's compressed in the intake pipe and the throttle plate is slammed shut?

so yes it is necessary in the stillen/vortec set up...at least a recir valve (whatever that black bosch thing that comes w/ the kit).

compressed air needs to go somewhere when the tb is closed, and back to the vortech isnt quite the best idea....anyway, thanks for the sound clips....i heard the greddy type S and i like it, i dont like that quiet metal clinging sound, it sounds like u boosted and some bolts just fell off and hit something in ure bay....
