Tranny Issues / Rebuild Advice

I had tranny trouble on mother's day and had to have my car towed a decent distance. Luckily, it was a bad clutch line.

Now the fun begins.

Well I had trouble getting into first gear this past Saturday morning.
The tranny was "working", but it was making a clunking noise that did not sound good.

I drove to my friend's dad's tranny shop. Just from a test drive, it sounds like a tooth may have broken off the ring gear / pinion.

They just got all the pipes out of the way and are dropping the tranny as I type this.

I am open to any advice. While the tranny is out, it is really tempting to get Cryo treated, shotpeened, and deburred. I am looking for a place in Columbus. What all should be treated out of the tranny?

Any otehr advice as far as a rebuild goes?

It would also be cool to maybe change the ratios, or maybe just add a 5th gear that will give me a lower RPM on the freeway.

I am thinking this is also a good time to get a new clutch. I am leaning towards the Clutchnet 6 puck sprung hub that IanS and Mardi are using. I am not quite sure exactly all I would buy from them. Is that the "Racing 6 Button "E-Z LOCK PRO" ™ Sprung Hub Clutch Disc? Do i need a new PP or whatelse??

Anyones help is appreciated. I have searched and read some threads.
thanks

OK I am really leaning towards the 6 puck sprung hub.

WHich pressure plate do I need? they have a 50% and a 100%. They say I am on the border on the 2 at CLutchnet.

Anyone know what PP IanS and MArdi are using???

They use the regular pressue plate. The next one up is not supposed to be streetable at all.

I went with the full disk sprung "Fiber-carbon pro" the #10 disk and their regular pressure plate.

I don't know for sure. I drove Neal's car which has the 6-puck clutchnet but with an ACT pressure plate. Did not feel too much different than mine. Mine feels very nice. Pedal is not much more stiff than stock, if at all. Graps nice with a little bit of slippage to make it streetable. I have had no issues with 260tq but we will see what it can hold at 10psi and probably a 100 more lbs of torque. I went with the full disk to keep a bit more streetability than the 6-puck.

No, the other guys seem to like it fine. I just wanted to try something different and thought it might be a better fit for me.

ok thanks! I think I will go with the 6 puck sprung hub and the regular PP. I will place my order now.

FYI: I also ordered a new friction plate for my Fidanza from Ultra Rev 877-585-7272. It is part number 229501. I talked to "dss42" here from the org . $90 MSRP. No discount for me though. :< Steve at SCO quoted me $59, but I would have to wait at least a week for it.

I am also ordering 4 new bearings from Dave Burnette at SouthPoint 888-254-6060.
I also got some new seals. He is awesome!!!!!!!!
Hmmm I forgot to figure out what I will do about needing shims...........
