where can i get after market low compression pistons and rods to boost my vq30de???
the reason why im asking this is because i wanted to lower my compression on my 3.0l motor

dont quote me on this but i think you can get them from jim wolfs site, or if your luky enough to find a vq30det you can grab em from that, but good luck finding that engine.

Sorry to not really answer you question, but the VQ seems to handle boost pretty well. Unless you are going for a killer high hp set up, you will most likely be fine on stock internals provided it has been taken care of.

yes i know that but i wanted to put a bigger cam....planning on putting the 3.5l cam
but it would change compression ratio so i wanted to lower the cr

Yep.

And stock VQ30's have seen over 400whp, way more than you can use in a FWD car anyway.

And if you plan on doing the 3.5 AND boosting, you're nuts.

1)Unless you're planning on boosting considerably over 16psi, your 10:1 static CR is fine. Adding cams can modify your dynamic CR, however increasing the overlap will decrease it, not raise it.

2)If you're determined to go with forged internals to handle 20+psi, you'd be better off dropping in a VQ35 since they have many forged internal options, which are cheaper/better.

How much power do you think you'd shoot for?
