Installing a quaife from a 4th gen to a 5th gen trans?

I currently have a quaife in my max in a 96 trans and i was wondering what i would need to put the quaife into the 5th gen trans besides axle seals and a new speedo gear or whatever its called.

I to have a Quaife in my 95, but to use the 2000-2001 tranny your axles need to be chaged to mach the 2000 tranny. The 96 axles wont work.

Your only concern at this point is the axle splins fitting into the quaife diff. That Im not sure of. But if it does then you should be able to drop the diff in that 2000 tranny with ease.

you can use any manual axle as for your 5th gen as long as you have a ABS ring. The 5th gen trannies come with a cap. The speedo gear on some later models 5th gens use the ABS ring gear to get the mileage. The earlier models use the speedo sensor. Axles are all interchangeable on manuals only except for the AE locking diff manual tranny for the drivers side and the I30 axle for locking diffs. All passenger side axles are interchangeable from 95-01. How do I know? I install them all the time into the cars. Right axles are all the same. What differentiates them is the ABS rings. Drivers side auto axles are different so do not use those. Get axles from Raxles or a reputable axle rebuilder that uses OEM replacement parts.

if you install the 4gh gen tranny in your 5th gen, the shifter will sit a bit forward. If you install your 5th gen tranny into your 4th gen the shifter sits back a bit.

So basically what your telling me is that i can use the same passenger side axle from any 95-01 but inorder to use my quaife in the 5th gen trans i have to get the driverside locking diff axle off an AE or i30vlsd.

No, you don't want an LSD axle for the quaife. You just want a normal axle. LSD axles are only for use with the factory VLSD that came in the RS5F50V.

So the axles that i get with the non lsd 5th gen trans should work just fine going into the quaife, i jsut dont want to spend money on a new trans and then realize that it wont work with my diff. Oh and do u any of you guys use or know about redline heavy shock proof oil?
