polishing a turbo..
so i finally picked one up from a org member =D..
and now i'm thinking about polishing it. it's not like the voertech blower where it's already sort of smooth. it's a garrett turbo and it seems like i might have to take off a bit of the material to get it smooth and shiny, will this compromise the turbo? will it be more prone to cracking? i just want to polish the compressor side. probably either going to jet hot coat the exhaust side or wrap it with turbo wrap...
thanks in advanced

I think I know what you mean about the surface. Its rough and bumpy, right?
If there is enough thickness then it shouldn't be a problem.
Got my polishing info from here:

hand sand till the bumps are almost gone. after its its smooth and no pits, use a buffing wheel and start with the green compound and then move onto the white. once its blinging use a bit of mothers polish to bring it shine out. a trick to keep the shine is to hit it with a light coat of clear to keep it from fading and possibly rusting.
