How Much Boost?

Well as most of you know im doing my motor over with eagle rods, and arias pistons. But my friend has a vq35 2002 maxima like mines, and wants to do the same custom turbo setup as me. But, he doesn't want to do his internals over, he wants to know if he can run 6-7psi on stock internals with the right fuel. I told him i didn't know the answer and I would find out for him. Also if he could run 6-7psi, couldn't he just use the stock injectors and get a fuel pump and a super afc because all he is running is 6-7psi. Let me know guys, thanks once again.

I would get a fmu for anything over 6 psi, and then I wouldn't run more then 10 psi on stock injectors. Its all fine if his a/f is good.

Easily. There are VQ35 guys running 11psi on stock internals. Whoever started this rumor that the VQ35 is weak needs to be smacked. You can get 500whp out of these engines without opening them up, maybe more (500ish whp is just the highest I have personally heard of.) The APS twin turbo kit for the 350z is gated at 9psi right out of the box. There has been one (1) single person on the 350z forum who has blown up their engine on an APS kit in the year or year and a half that they've been around. Those jokers with greddy and turbonetics kits are blowing up left and right on 7 and 8psi because they don't understand the concept of EFI tuning.

So I think that I might only run 8psi also and save the money that I was going to spend for pistons/rods and just spend that on fuel parts. **** it makes no sense for me to do the internals if I can run 8-10 on stock internals with the right tuning. I just didn't want to blow up that's why I said fucc it I will do the internals anyway. Wow I will have about an extra $1400 in my pocket now . But what about the injectors for him, will he need new ones or can he just use a fuel pump and super afc 2. My friend has a 99 maxima, boosted running at 10psi with stock injectors and just a fuel pump and a super afc and has no porblems. So will he? Thanks.

Regardless, it's a good idea to at least replace the rod bolts with ARP rod bolts if you are going to be doing any high revving.

+1 to that. Careful of the revs if you don't replace em. Don't miss that 4th gear shift and hit 2nd...

Your friend is going to need more fuel than the stock injectors will supply at stock fuel pressure. How he does this is up to him, like I said before there are many different ways to satisfy your fuel needs. Upping the pressure and not worrying about injectors is one way, getting bigger injectors and not worrying about the pressure is another, or you can do a cobination of the two. But yeah he will need more fuel I'd say.
