Now my question:
It obvious where the oil lines go but is this where the coolant line goes?

I'm assumming I need to get a Barb fitting to screw into there right?

the coolant lines, the 3.5 blocks come with a thermostat that has two outlets, one goes to the radiator the other goes to the oil filter and used as a oil cooler. Id buy that thermostat housing and tap into it. Id also buy the fitting and another bolt that goes behind or in front of the block where your coolant drains. They are right in behind the headers. Use the same points that the 3.5 VQ's use. Just throwing that out there.

oil return is on the bottom, oil feed is on top. the coolant lines are the other 2 on either side. you can find specs on your turbo and make certin.

First let me say congrats on all the new parts, and good luck with the project.

Now Jay i have a question. Couldn't you use the Nismo Thermostat from a VQ35 and then use that outlet you were talking about? For one the Nismo thermostat would open up at 154 degrees F compared to 170 degrees, and you would already have a place for your coolant line for your turbo.

Good to know about the thermostat. I've also heard about tapping a coolant line at the TB?

I also heard about the Nismo Thermostat opening at a lower temp too. How much are they, that would be ideal if it will work.

Would that fit the 3.0 block? It is also noted that it may affect fuel economy and heater performance, would the turbo some what offset that since it'll be running hotter?

Let me find out tomorrow how much a regular thermostat for a 3.5 goes for. If its under $15, Ill invest in it and let you guys know tomorrow if it will bolt up to the 3.0 block. My money is it will bolt up. I just have this strong gut feeling it will. It has all the holes lined up for it.

For winter I would not use that 350Z thermostat housing. Running your car at a cooler temp does affect your fuel mileage and other things. There was a write up somewhere around here about that. The turbo will last longer using coolant lines.

All you turbo guys one way or another I highly recommend you guys do that coolant line mod to get your turbos to run cooler.

Jay- please do if its its convenient for you. I think I'll have to tap in elsewhere and when summer time rolls around, if it does bolt up, I'll definately do the nismo thermo.

Got the oil lines from stealthmode Performance but the oil return flange is not right for some reason so I had to re order another one. I would actually recommend going to summit racing and get the fittings and lines you need. I ended up not being able to use the 10AN line(too short), the 2 flanges that it came with and I had to buy another adapter to fit the 3-AN line that it came with. I spend like an extra $100+ because of that so I highly recommend getting the oil things at Summit.
The BOV flange was from ebay. here is the link:

Thanks for the info. Did you decide to go with 3" charge piping?

Actually I'm going with 2.5 piping. Now that I bought it, I wish I had gone 3 at least on the non charge side but too late to turn back.
I'm having a headache figuring how to connect the 2.5in piping non charge side to the turbo inlet which is 4 inch, I ended up buying a 4 inch to 3 inch reducer and may have to use one of them 3-2.5in on top of that to match the piping. Thats why I wish I had gone 3 in at least on that side.
Other than that, I have no regrets running 2.5 in, its seems to fit the best everywhere else.

Nothing wrong with using reducers. I have 3-4 reducing couplers to match up different size pipes and inlets.

Very nice turbo, I am jealous
