In the middle of installing my lightened crank pulley, a few questions...

The Wizard and I tried the trick of shoving something in the flywheel teeth to stop the flywheel from turning but the crank bolt was still too tuff to undo (and I don't feel overly comfortable wedging a screwdriver in my flywheel teeth). So.... we did the (scary but effective) trick of putting the breaker bar over the crank pulley bolt and start the engine. It worked. But my question is how should we tighten the crank pulley bolt after installing the new crank pulley?

Also, we loosened both bolts on the power steering pulley and we still do not have any slack to remove the PS belt. What are we missing?

Thanks.

- Josh

If you lower the driver's side wheel to the ground and put it in gear, it shouldnt spin. Then you can just tighten it with the breaker bar.

I already told you about the third bolt Taterboy. Let's finish installing that pulley asap. Anything for 1 HP, right!

Let's hope my install goes smoother.

Job done.

Butt dyno? 0 'virtual' HP

Real HP? 1-3 (guestimate)

Sleep-better-at-night factor: 4 out of 10.

Weight savings? What would you say Jim, 2 lb?

Looks? Purty.

Install difficulty? 2.5 - 3 wrenches out of 5 (1 being a FSTB, 5 being an SC).

Worth 6 hours of pay? Hmmm.... not sure about that. Ahh, heck, sure, why not?

Thanks Wizard for your help.
