Supercharger install- Alternator rotation

How did you guys rotate the alternator per the instructions so that the mounting plate bolts would line up?

Read my write-up. Use a long, skinny screwdriver to judge how close you are and use a hammer to tap the alternater in the appropriate direction.

IIRC, Stillen instructions tell you to loosen the hard to get to bolt (behind the alternator) which secures the alternator to the engine. I would like to add, that you should try Matty's and Ptatohed's tips w/o attempting to loosen the hard to get to bolt. That should be plan C.

This hard to-get-to bolt... would I need to move the compressor to get it? If not, what would I need to access it?

Damned alternator won't budge at all...

Nah, you don't need to move anything. IIRC, all you need are some long extensions, a flex elbow, the correct socket and some patience will do the trick. You'll have to stick your head up into a cavity to see, then the rest is done by feel with your hands. It's a real PITA, but doable.
