going 2.6" pulley

Back to the old belt size issues.
I currently have the 2.875" pulley with the Gaterback 4060690 and it fits perfaps alittle tight to go on. I still have to tighten the tentioner about half way to get to the 90 dgree deflection point.
A couple other points. My idler pulley has a grove worn in it and the bearing has a wear point in it.
So I am having ASP make me a new medal idler pulley.
My idler is 1.9" in diameter.

What is the diameter of your idler?
Do I need grind the bolt down more or just get rid of it?
What size belt?

I recommend the STEEL pulley if you get one. Make sure you specify for the V2 kit. I believe they come with a new bearing already pressed in but verify it. I make it a point to always change the bearings anytime I have the thing apart.

They are making it in steel, so that it doesn't happen again.
But what size is everyone elses idler pulley? That might explain the difference in the belt sizes from 1 person to the other.
And what about the bolt? Grind more or remove completely.

I bought both pullies from ASP which had the same diameter. The only difference was one had guiderails and the tensioner did not... but I don't know what sized belt you need to use for the 2.62".

How much more boost/hp/tq do you think you can get with the 2.62 ?

Let me guess 4-6 lbs of additional boost and maybe 20-30 more HP.

1-3 psi more. Alot more heat. You figure roughly 10 hp for every pound of boost but the heat will play a factor. You will use oil faster. You will see more boost sooner in the rpm range which is always good. Each time you decrease the pulley size the super charger has to spin faster creating faster wear on the parts. What the hell , go for it!
