what exactly does the z32 maf do?

ive been reading about the z32 maf mod a lot and was wondering what it actually does and how it helps?

you use it when you max out your stock maf when you are boosted. it goes with 370cc or 555cc injectors very well when you have more than 300whp i have it with nismo 555cc injectors.

hmm i have a s/c with 3.125 pulley, headers, y pipe and exhaust.. do u think this surpasses 300hp?

hmm dont know... what happens when its maxed out? ive had the car idle funny and die right after i ran it hard for a few seconds.. and when the car died i waited a few seconds and it drove fine again.. is that maxing it out?

umm you might want to do a little research instead of modding your car to that measure and just beating the he11 out of it. You are just asking for disaster.

Our maf is only capable of metering a set amount of airflow. Its somewhere around 300hp worth of airflow. After that its maxed out and can't tell the computer how much MORE air above its capacity is entering the engine.

A z32 maf can meter airflow to a much greater capacity.
