Gizzmo Launch Interface

I know you can do this with E-manage but I dont want to really go EU.........anyone ever tried this on a VQ? I really like the idea of this because with it you can shift without coming off the gas.........keep that boost spooling and you can get a nice launch, its like 2 step........it costs about $150

Gizzmo's launch interface integrates with the Gizzmo Tach Recall Shift light to enable the fully adjustable launch control function. The launch control function induces sequential misfire events at the desired RPM set by the user.

In a turbo application, having the throttle open while inducing misfire increases the velocity and density of exhaust gases, and in doing so allows the turbo to spool up and generate boost without load. This results in boost being generated before launching, therefore allowing a vehicle to launch with considerably more power. The launch interface is activated by the engagement of the clutch and therefore allows flat shifting (the ability to change gears without removing your foot from the throttle). With the clutch engaged the RPM will pull back to the launch RPM previously set by the user in order to avoid over-revving. This allows the engine to remain in boost while moving through the gears.
Launch control can benefit naturally aspirated cars by giving a consistent launch RPM for the best result every time, and enable quicker gear changes through flat shifting.

CONCEPT:
* Fully adjustable launch control * Adaptive auto detect software * Interfaces up to 6 coil channels * Sequentially induced misfire technology

CHARACTERISTICS:
Processor: 20mhz RISC Misfire type: Sequential Case size: 55mmX45mmX10mm

I deff. want to hear what the opionated folks on here has to say about this, it says you have to splice like 15 wires..........not bad if you ask me....

but one thing that I was wondering since this works by initating "sequential misfires" would it trip a CEL and throw the car into "limp mode"?

This device seems like a normal "stutter box". It allows you to lower the rev limit, which just like the stock system cuts spark to various cylinders (aka misfire). This does in fact help help you spool your turbo while stopped/off the line. Nothing new here, an MSD and other aftermarket ignition system can do the same thing.

OEM rev-limit = fuel cut.

I simply power-brake (at any RPM I want) to launch.... and I never have to take my foot off the gas to shift.
