Quote: nitrous is not required, pull the plugs and just clean them and now your down to about 35-40bucks

And if thats the only thing keeping you from the track I maybe willing to paypal you half if you promise to hit the track within a week and report the results

Damn you guys really wanna see the car go down the track, I hope it does not dissapoint if i come back with a 13sec slip lol.

As for the nitrous, I am not going to the track unless I am taking the nitrous. If I am going, it is to shatter my current PB at the 1/4 (which is 13.8 3yr ago). I think I may have solved the misfire issues (I think its the J&S causing it), so I disconnected it and running a much more conservative timing now. Also gotta make a hole on the floor of rear passanger side for a blow down tube, Moroso/pbr wont let me run nitrous otherwise. If all goes well, and misfire is officially gone, I plan to max out the boost gauge!

you don't need nitrous to beat a 13.8 **** I ran a 14.0 with a blown motor, launching at idle, on street tires, no burnout, granny shifting or full trim

Got an easy way around that. I used to do this with my camaro.

Tech the car with no bottle in the bracket. Just tell the tech guy no spray for today. Hide the bottle somewhere in your car or have a buddy bring your bottle in.

Then after passing tech, throw the bottle in and have fun!

Aye buddy , use a Hole Saw and take it slow , dont try to force the drill/hole saw with pressure, it will evenutally run a perfect hole for your blow down tube.

oh trust me, for damn sure i wont be running no 13, even off bottle. I ran the 13.8 with no nitrous, 7psi nonintercooled, and leaky headgasket.
I just want to make very sure that when I do go, its for a bad *** run, since we all know I prob wont go back for another year lol

People always tell me that, but I dont want to risk getting banned for ever lol. Its just a small hole.

Yeah alan, I got it down packed, my trunk is full of holes lol. From blowdown tube, oil lines, so iv mastered it lol. The floor is real thin metal too, so no effort needed.

damn you guys are serious about the donations, thats awesome. I will verify that my misfire is 100% gone, tune the high boost, and get back to you guys this week or next. I want to go before school starts. on a second thought, i might go without the nitrous, just to not bother with tuning it n stuff, only negative about that is my 60' is going to be about 2.0 - 2.1

So, I was very excited that I thought the misfire was gone by removing the J&S. I just went for a couple runs and misfire is still there, im so upset that im not even mad if u know what i mean. Im basically giving up, im done with the car.

I dont, its my daily driver. Misfire is only in boost and not during normal driving. If it was there during normal driving and I coudlnt figure it out, i probably would have set the car on fire.

**** man, I was hoping the miss was gone so I could go to the track this Wed since its the last day of the year for Moroso. The car does pull like a freight train, but the miss is still there. I have never had such a perfect tune on my car, afr mid/high 11s very very flat, timing conservative, boost is flat as hell, new coils, alternator tested at idle was 80something amp(so its good), spark plugs are about .029-.030, ignition at 16v with a NEW volt booster, its not the JS nor the EU because I have bypassed both and still misses. 4gauge new grounds to battery, chassis, alty, new 4gauge fused from alty to bat. I mean it cant get any more perfect than what I have now.

Are you sure this problem isn't fuel related?

well when the missfire happens the AFR stays the same on both banks, it does not get affected. Has to be something electrical.

You give thought to opening the gap to around .032-.033 it's possible for a car to run worst with a tiny gap. Also have you ever tested coil, maf, ecu, j&s, eu and injector voltage while under a load. Also if you have some of these items sharing a ground seperate them

ok thats it all out of idea's hope I said somthing you have not covered and it turns a light on

I meant, could it be a bad batch of gas? I say throw in some Trick/Race Gas (about 5-6 gallons) and see if that makes any difference.

coils are new, i dont have a maf, JS and EU bypassed still misses. Buddy of mine keeps telling me its probably alternator, but id assume if it were true it would happen with higher rpm, but with higher rpms the missing goes away.

EU has its own ground straight from battery, JS its own ground. im telling you, everything is perfect lol, is a freaking brain fu*k.

However I realized something today; this happened after I swapped the auto! So I am thinking about putting a new speed sensor since i used w/e came with the auto from junk yard.

On a serious note though, So your saying that their wasnt even a hint of misfire with the old tranny in?

have you ever pulled off the crank sensor on the bellhousing and cranked it to see if the signal plate is true (not wobbly)? or ever checked the teeth on it? when i chipped one tooth on mine i had a misfire under wot, but not normal driving.

Damn thats a good idea. How did you chip it?

Going to be kind of hard to get my head in there to see, ill get a little mirror or something and turn the crank by hand to inspect.

well, trying to prevent the crank from turning i stuck a flathead on one of the teeth on the flywheel and it slipped and knocked a tooth off.

you can jack the front up a little and get down there...theres enough room to look into the hole and see the teeth. ive had to do this a few times. of course youll need a friend to turn the key...

You bring up a good point, because everytime I put on the tranny i struggle with the plate being in the way, sometimes i rest the tranny on it lol. So I wonder if i bent it this last time. I hope thats it bro!!! not a good thing but at least I know the issue finally.

And actually, something thats pretty interesting, the misfires are pretty evenly spaced out from one another, as if it happens with every X revolution or something. but thing is, after like 5500 it stops missing

that would make sense, a bad timing ring on the crank would def cause issues. but try the sensors first so you dont unbolt the tranny for nothing
