Wow I'm surprised it lasted a year. That tranny cooler sure does help, I can't wait to get mine. Ever think of doing the VB mod? It might help that tranny last a little longer.

If you put it in park or neutral. And rev it real quick, do you feel the car jerk forward ?
Might not be a solenoid, if it was i dont think revese would be affected since that engages mechanically via shifter n not solenoid. Unless 5AT is different.

Sounds like the tranny is hurt man. I wouldnt waste time/energy putting transgokit and new solenoids, to then find out it wasnt solenoids.

Thats EXACTLY how my previous tranny died. no reverse, jerks when you rev in park/neutral. Basically the clutches welded themselves together from heat.

It happened to me with my first maxima.... sorry, but your transmission is no more. I went to a transmission shop, they rebuilted it and I asked for a vb mod and I added a dr with a big oil cooler. A year later, I swaped a VQ35 and the transmission lasted for another year.... Then, I promissed to myself, no more automatic....

Best of luck with the "new' one. As we said, VB mod is a MUST, the DR mod is so cheap that you would'nt do it and dont forget a oil cooler.(You might, also bypass the radiator oil cooler)
