My friend recently upgraded his Precision 6262 dual ball bearing and I'm interested in buying it from him. It has a .82 a/r turbine housing. My motor is a stock 2001 DEK with swirl valves and egr removed. Realistically my goal is 400 whp. I plan to get it tuned for 2 settings, a conservative tune at gate pressure (~6 psi) for normal driving and a hi boost setting of about 10-12 psi (possibly with race gas) for the track.
Would this turbo be pretty streetable and work ok on a DEK? Pricing is not an issue since he has it a good price for me.

I know these things make great power on high flowing 4 cylinders, idk how the flow of the vq's are compared to motors like the evo 4g63, or the s2000 f22.
I meant if it will be a nice spooling turbo for my rpm range (IE not too big). I know its a ball bearing, but it seems like its a big turbo. I dont want all my boost to come in at 6000 rpm, looking for boost to start around 2500 rpm.

Just looking around, Precision doesn't post compressor maps. Some people compare this turbo with the GTX35 turbo. I don't know about it starting to spool at 2500, it maybe possible with some nicely made feedpipes. You may consider a smaller a/r housing than the .82 to accomplish that, it should still be good uptop since that turbo is beastly.
with an .82 a/r on a 3.0L DEk you're looking at a 3700+ spool.
.68 a/r Hot side on a garett 60-1 (with a .70 cold side) should put you where you want to be with a 3000+ spool, and is capable of 600hp that you will never ever get to (LOL)

forward feed pipe (unfortunately with not that of an efficient feed pipe setup from OEM 95-98 headers) with a same-side in/out intercooler (I tried to at least optimize cold side piping) on a 2000 5spd VLSD max with a PF TB port-matched to 00vi (NO rod delete) was spooling at 3000 and at full 13-14psi(BoostController) spool by 3400.
with VLSD and ACT clutch -- torque steer was still a b!tch from 3000-4000
top end was great, Tuned it with EU on a Z32 Maf, terrorized many cars in LI, until a t-bone send that Max headfirst into a parked car
owner got insurance $$ and got a Mustang V8, and never looked back

I have a 6266 PTE Dual BB turbo with .81A/R.
My car starts to spool around 3500rpms and full spool at 4300rpms or so. I love it the thing is a straight BEAST and will smash most anything on the highway. BUT I have the 3.5L engine that moves more air. I would think that A/R size would be a bit too big for the 3.0L. I'd recommend like .68 A/R or so.
