turbo or supercharger

Google or any search engine is your best friend on this matter...ive been looking into this myself but for my 03 and im gonna be looking towards turbocharging mine at some point and ive found a company that actually sells a full turbo kit for mine for about 6-7k and runs on stock internals(which I would never do).

Just searched for you and in less than 3 minutes found that Turbokits.com actually has a kit for your 01 VQ30 for less than 4k but welding and fabrication is required...do your research before investing into these types of forced induction.

Widespread misinformation then.
Everyone says that the plate flexes and causes belt shredding issues.
Thanks for clearing that up wiz. Not my intention to misinform, just so many have said it that I believed it.

No problem. Those who were spreading the misinformation rarely post anymore. Every time someone mentions V2 belt shredding issues, I post to clarify.

EXACTLY!!
I've installed both V1 and V2 plates - it's all about the proper pulley combination, proper plate prep with right tensioner, and using only the bolts that you need to use - this way the timing chain cover does not leak oil at the bottom or at the top over time (most people don't even talk about this issue..)
I've fixed more belt shredding/oil leaking/v1+v2 plates in NY/NJ/CT in the past 13 years than I really care to admit. (wow when did i become such an old fart?)
maxima scene in NYC now is not even close to what it used to be back 5+ years ago..
some of my close friend's cars:
Bishnu - V2 plate (2.87") on a DEK with my old 00vi setup (ported/portmatched lower to upper and portmatched upper to PFTB)

Dyno ends at 6000 - power was still to be made..
RIP Bishnu, I miss you Bro!!!
98Maxedout - Used both V2 and V1 plates (3.125") on a 3.5L made over 400hp on daily driver (sadly no more maxima and no more 650hp+ supra after maxima)

plus other people who made 300hp+ on daily drivers and fun weekend cars..
just goes to show you that both V1 and V2 plates make GOOD power without issues if they're properly setup and maintained.. YES you have to pop the hood and check your oil level/beltcondition/supercharger piping every once in a while..
and we didn't have Nistune back then..
Apexi VAFC2 controller was 'IT' for tuning until the Emanage Ultimate was made to work with VQ30 crank/cam signals, and that was a revolution in itself..
there was a really good quote in someone's sig here a long time ago, something along the lines of -
"Don't be telling the guy that made it work that it doesn't work in the first place.."
