Both www.discounttiredirect.com and www.tirerack.com will have set of 4 Michelin Pilot Sports A/S delivered to your home for approx $800.

Sears wants $1K to order them. What a rip-off. For some reason, I think Sears does installs as well, and will refuse to sell unless you have them install the tires. So you're looking at $1100 once everything is said and done - valve stem, mount, balance.

Save yourself the $$, and find a reputable mom and pop place in your town, have them do the install for cheaper than Sears. You will thank yourself.

btw, im still riding around on the stock Craptenzas, and am thinking seriously about going the Michelins in mid-December. Chicago winters blow hard.

I just put the pilot sports on my 2000. They are great. I also got mine at SEARS, they were on sale for $195 each, Reg $205. I'm not sure why they are telling you $224 each, it seems kind of high. Tire Rack has them for $191. Not including shipping.

If you feel like paying the price for good tires, I definitely recommend them.

and if you want to save even more money.. get some Sumitomo HTR+ even cheaper and very close in performance..

the Michelins are NOT worth the money in my opinion. The Continentals and the Sumitomos perform so well you are highly unlikely to ever tell a difference between those and the twice as expensive Michelins.. save your $..

Good find. Even after m and b, they are still cheaper then the price Sears offered you. Free shipping is nice(tire rack is like $15 a tire).

I skipped the Michelins as well... Never really impressed with their products for the price that you pay

2 more alts are the Mastercraft and Cooper tires. Mastercraft is owned by Cooper and tires share the same internal construction.

compared the the RE92s, these tires are on a whole different level. wet traction is far superior to the RE92 (phenonmenal even) and traction in the dry is considerably better. however, the pilot sports do make a bit more road noise than the RE92, but the benefits of this tire far outweighs the increased road noise.

i'd say get any tire that's not the RE92 since those are utter garbage....

bottom line, for the $250 Canadian (~$200USD) that i paid for all 4 tires installed and balanced i am more than happy with them

I'm on my second set of Pilot Sport (all-seasons) on my high-mileage Mustang GT. I will not buy another set, so I can't recommend them for you either. Here's why:

Tread life is terrible. Also, you have to discard them earlier than most tires. When the tread gets low (but more than enough to pass inspection), tread squirm makes the car very tiring to drive. The car will "swim" all over the place at highway speeds and under any braking condition.

Now, having said what I don't like, I will say that the tire is very impressive for an all-season tire. Dry performance is quite good, but wet performance is absolutely amazing. I am still impressed every time I drive in the rain. Other things: rolling noise and bump absorbtion is reasonable, they don't lose much traction when hot (tested at Deals Gap several times), very predictable, and some tire shops have trouble installing them. (stiff sidewalls)

Don't get me wrong, I like the Pilot Sports, (A/S) but the short life is quite irritating (especially since they must be discarded early for your own sanity). I read a recent review on the latest performance all season tires. A certain model from Dunlop (can't remember which one) matched the Pilot Sports in every performance category AND offered a 65,000 mile treadlife guarantee AND they cost half as much as the Michelins. The Dunlops will be my next tires (on my Mustang AND Maxima).
