15 inch steel wheel price
I know Nissan dealers overcharge for parts, but this one has me angry. I have a 2001 GXE. The dealer claims I have a damaged wheel, but I don't notice any problem. I would just let him fix it, for warranty protection purposes, but he wants $185 for an ordinary 15" steel wheel. Same can be had from Discount Tire for about $35. Other Nissan dealers in my area charge the same high price. Of course I won't let the dealers gouge me, but I'm concerned this may come back to haunt me if some warranty issue arises ('We told you the wheel was bad, and you wouldn't listen', etc,). Does anyone know if the 15" steel wheel from Nissan is somehow really special and irreplaceable? Or is this part the means by which Nissan has recently emerged fom financial trouble?

In short, buy the cheapest steel wheel you can find. If something on that axle went wrong, they would have to prove that the steel wheel caused it (if they blamed it).
I have 17" OEM rims on my 2003 SE. I also have a set of steelies for winter use. When I brought it in for an oil change a while back, the mech. commented how it was a good idea to use steel wheels for winter, so the OEM's don't get messed up from salt / pot holes.
