I know that this question will get me flamed, but I need to get some opinions on 17" tires that will go 60,000 miles. I am a sales rep, and put 65,213 miles on the car last year. I'm moving up to 17's very soon and want to find a tire that is quiet and does not wear out in 20000 miles.
Any help?

Your best bet is probably to look at the Michelin Pilot tires. I know there probably the best you can get and they should have the best warranty too.

I'm not sure which Pilot tires he means, but they're all expensive and not all of them have long treadlife ratings either I believe.

I think that really all you can do is to look at the treadwear rating that each manufacturer rates their tire models at. There might be some 17" tires with treadwear warranties, but probably not too many as this is a "performance" size. I'm pretty sure that you'll want to look at all-season tires though, as those tend to have the longest treadwear ratings compared to summer tires which are typically higher performance so they're made with softer rubber.

Tire Rack has an interactive Tire Decision Guide on their site, so all you have to do is specify a new size and make treadwear your #1 priority. That should give you some candidates for you.
