Planning to buy Sumitomo HTR+ tires for my Max, anybody has them?
I am planning to get them in 235/45R17 size. They have pretty good rating on Tirerack.
Anybody has them and how do you like them? Rain, snow, dry handling?
Thanks.

After a long and extensive research i decided to buy the Sumitomo HTR+ about a year ago. So far i have no complaints, i immediately notice a huge improvement in wet traction. The tires are quiet and ride very well. I am very pleased with them, as far as i am concerned they are just as good as much higher priced tires.

i think I am set on HTR+.
Thanks for the input guys.
I have the HTR+ myself - actually got it used from a friend who had it and rims on his (now sold) Max.
It's a vast improvement over the RE92's.
Check out my short review of it here:

And also -- do you think the sidewalls on the SUMIs are softer than the RE92's???
I'm dang close to buying these, and the only that scares me is that some guys are saying the SUMIs are not as stiff in the sides, and don't handle as well in the sweepers.
Please let me know....
thanks,

our stock tires have load rating of 93. Now 235/45 size has load rating of 93 but it
is a little bit wide for our rims. Number of people run 235/45 on stock rims and seem
to be fine.
As far as load ratings go, between the size i got and the OEM Potenza's - it comes out to approximately 600lbs. of weight distributed equally over four corners.
I constantly have a full load on the car and i have had no issues whatsoever. Additionally, i don't have it with me right now but the 16" on previous year GXE's were load rated at 91 - so there's really not much of a problem at all.
Btw, i've had my HTR+'s for more than 8k miles and the previous owner had it on for about that long as well.
With regards to softer sidewalls, the Max takes turns (including sweeping curves) far better with the HTR+ than it ever did with the Potenza at any tire pressure.

I got a set of HTR+ this past spring. Very smooth and quiet tire with nice handling and great wet weather traction.
A great buy for the price, and they look hot too.

There great tires. I just got them put on a while back. First i started to hear this loud sound but i eventually found that my right front wheel bearing was bad!! So after i had it replaced it sound soo quiet and smooth. The hold up great in the rain. I would recommend them.
