I have 2 pairs of Proxes T1R. I ordered Proxes 4, but the vendor accidently mounted T1R. I found out about the mix up, 30 days after installation and the vendor told me they could not do anything about it.

I am so far happy with my T1R, but the tires have not seen any snow yet. I was told by the vendor that snow traction will not be too bad if I am cautious.

Fuzion HRi's. (215-60-15) Absolutely love them, and they were incredibly inexpensive considering how good they are as an all-season.

6th gen 18" rims with 235/50-18 or 255/45-18 tires

Anybody have any experience with the 6th gen stock rims with 235/50-18 or 255/45-18 tires with stock suspention? I'm making a set of touring rims. Any problems with fitment or rubbing? Any clearance measurements?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Got my Dunlop Sp Sport's through Goodyear after I complained about the RSA cracking issue, 4 new tires mounted and balanced for $245.00!!

Great tire, no noise, great traction on water and cold surfaces, ice it's so-so, thank god for global warming and the lack of snow, or else I'd be in a ditch!!

I'm sporting Dunlop sp 8000s. they've been pretty good. I'd be interested in trying something else but unfortunately that's not an option cause of the size.

hey guys new on the forum looking for some feedback

For a 03 Maxima SE what is better between 50/45 series for ride quality. Is the 45 alot harsher than 50. Last vehicle I had was Spec V with some summer 45 series which I sold quicklly for all seasons and went with Falcon

Currently I am looking at these 3 choices. Conditions encountered, alot of rain little snow overall, car to be driven by wife and I am hoping to get decent mileage out of these

FEDERAL SS595 225/50/17 V rated
TOYO PROXES 4 98W 225/50ZR17 possibly the 225/45/17 size as well
Cheaper alternative - Bridgestone Fuzion HRi 225/50/17 H rated???

Thoughts?

Recommended: Avon Tech M550 All Season

I ran summer tires on my '97 Maxima, but I've had a set of the Avons on both my '03 Passat and '06 Avalon, great overall ride quality with V rated high performance. They are directional, look good and are reasonably priced at Tire Rack. They are a bit wider in the midsection as there is a nice rim protector built into the tire.

For an all season tire, I'm very happy. Check out the reviews at Tire Rack.

Cheers...

I haven't updated anything in this thread in a while. I sold my old wheels and tires and recently bought something else.

I got a decent deal on some Zeix 326, which are Ohtsu, but the same as Falken. Whatever. They are 215/55/16 on 4th gen SE wheels.

The tires are quiet and handle well enough. They are more of an all season tire than the previous tires -- Kelly EVO-Z (same as Fusion, same as Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D2) so they don't have quite as much grip. I really like them in the rain, too. I have only had them a couple of weeks, so I can't say much to the treadwear.

Don't get what good this will be, but here goes

Have used so far:

215/55ZR16 Avon Tech M500s... good summer tire at a good price, lasts a decent amount and grips pretty well

245/45ZR16 Toyo T1R - great dry traction, great wet traction, went somewhat fast but then again i'm pretty hard on tires. sidewall was pretty soft.

245/45ZR16 Hankook Ventus RS-2 (Z212) - dry traction is awesome, wet traction leaves a bit to be desired. sidewalls are a bit soft for the amount of traction it gives. wore out really quickly though...

Four Brand New TOYO Versado Tires!

I was at the tire shop ready to put on four Proxes 4 tires when the manager suggested I take a look at the newly arrived Toyo Versado. It is an AA/A 400 rated tire, better than the AA/A 300 Proxes 4 and a bit cheaper due to the new promotion. I got 4 215/60R16 (These are T-Rated) for $513 installed plus a $50 gas card, so $463.00 out the door. I must say, they are very nice and quiet. I had Spectrums before, and they lasted 61K miles, but these have better traction and I can't wait to see how they perform when wet.

I am still running standard size (225/50ZR17) Michelin Pilot A/S tires. They seem to retain much of their grip even after 40-50k which is excellent. their wet grip i believe has declined somewhat, but it also may be due to worn shocks. i had a rotation at about 96k (I'm currently at 125k) and the tire place reported some cupping occurring on my tires. after the rotation, they told me they would be noisy for a few thousand miles then be fine. after 3k they were still so incredibly noisy I had them rotated back and left them that way. the incredible levels of versatility and grip make me want to keep them, however the elevated noise levels since they've been aging has been enough, that along with the price ($198/tire mounted @ TireDiscounters) has been enough to let me be open to other considerations.

Kumho exsta ASX, they are extremely comfortable and stick really good, i dont care if they go bold after 30K, 2 sets will cost like one of re92 but will beat them in every aspect.

Michelin Pilot Sport AS 225/50/17 on stock SE wheels. This is the second set I have put on the car. Grip is fantastic wet or drive, and impressive in snow. 1st set went 48k miles.
